Big Island Circle Island Tour with Pickup from Kings' Land by Hilton Grand Vacations
Pickup 7:00–7:15 am | about 10 hours door to door | $245 per person | Max 14 guests
Kings' Land guests are a particular kind of Big Island visitor: you've got a full kitchen, a longer stay, and the golf course out the window — you're settled in, not passing through. That's exactly the trip that benefits most from handing one day entirely to a local guide. Spend it seeing the far side of the island without doing six hours of your own driving, then go back to cooking dinner on your own lanai.
We collect you at the Kings' Land main clubhouse entrance between 7:00 and 7:15 am. The property spreads across the slope above the Waikoloa Beach Resort, so if your building is far from the clubhouse, leave a few minutes for the walk or the internal shuttle. As with every pickup, your guide calls the night before with your exact time.
What's included
This is our Full-Day Circle Island Tour — the signature loop: Punaluʻu black sand beach, Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park, Hilo, and Akaka Falls, with a lunch stop, snacks, and bottled water along the way. It runs about 10 hours door to door, costs $245 per person, and never carries more than 14 guests in our luxury Mercedes Sprinter van. Pickup and drop-off at Kings' Land are free, and cancellation is free up to 24 hours before departure.
From the fairways to the crater rim
Kings' Land sits high on the Kohala lava plain — the driest, sunniest corner of the island. The tour takes you to its opposite: from your 7:00 am pickup the van tours south along the Kona coast, completing pickups in Kailua-Kona before climbing through coffee country toward the island's southern tip. Budget roughly two and a half hours of scenic, stop-punctuated driving before the first headline stop; the payoff is standing inside a national park where the ground has been rebuilt within your lifetime.
The return leg brings you up the windward side — waterfalls, rainforest, Hilo's old storefronts — before crossing back to the dry side in the evening light. You'll understand the island's split personality in a way no beach day can teach.
A note for longer stays
Many Kings' Land guests book the Circle Island Tour early in a one- or two-week stay and use it as a scouting day — you'll pass dozens of beaches, towns, and coffee farms worth returning to with your rental car. Your guide is happy to mark up a map with personal recommendations; it's the kind of thing owner-led tours are for.

Questions from guests at Kings' Land by HGV
Where does the van stop at Kings' Land?
At the main clubhouse entrance between 7:00 and 7:15 am. If your unit is in a far building, allow time to reach the clubhouse — your guide confirms the exact pickup minute by phone the night before.
We're here for two weeks — when in our stay should we do this tour?
Early. Most Kings' Land guests treat it as a scouting day: you'll see the whole island with a guide, then revisit your favorite spots on your own schedule afterward.
Is the tour good value compared to driving the loop ourselves?
The self-drive loop is 220+ miles and 6+ hours behind the wheel. For $245 per person you get an owner-guide who narrates the island's history and geology, handles every logistics decision, and includes lunch stop, snacks, and water — and nobody in your group misses the views because they're driving.
Can we cancel if our plans change?
Yes — cancellation is free up to 24 hours before the tour.
