Big Island Now's Business Monday column profiled Ohana Tours and our co-founders Miexia Ah Loy, Leon Fabricius and Evan Teshima. After Hurricane Lala hit the Kaʻū District on Aug. 15, we rerouted the Circle Island Tour while the area recovered. When roads reopened in late September, we returned and made Paradise Meadows farm on South Point Road a regular stop, so our tours bring visitors and business back to Kaʻū.

"Without these tour companies bringing people to us, we'd be out of business."

Lili Rodriguez, marketing director, Paradise Meadows Farm

"I tell stories about each geographical area, wherever I am. I try to fit as many stories about that area as I can, so by the end of the day, they have this kind of tapestry of the entire Big Island."

Miexia Ah Loy, co-founder and owner-guide
